The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C., on 28th August 2022, organized a Gilanpasa Pooja to the Gautama Buddha at Washington Buddhist Maha Vihara, a meritorious event that the Buddhists are performing during Vassana Kaala/rain retreat. 

Ven. Alawwe Pannatissa Thero offered a Dhamma sermon to participants, which was live broadcasted via zoom. Ven. Maharagama Dhammasiri Thero, Chief Abbot of the Vihara invoked blessings to all the participants.

Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe, family members of the staff and several Buddhist devotees participated in the noble event.
