A delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) led by Anjali Kaur, Deputy Assistant Administrator-Asia called on Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe on 14th June 2022 at the Embassy premises.

Ambassador Samarasinghe briefed the delegation on recent developments in Sri Lanka. He also conveyed warm wishes to Gabriel Grau, newly appointed Mission Director to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. USAID apprised the Ambassador on new programmes of assistance including in the areas of food security and technical assistance in public finance management. The Ambassador thanked USAID for their continued assistance to Sri Lanka.

Debra Mosel, Deputy Mission Director of USAID to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Jason Gilpin, Deputy Director, Sanjay Iyer, International Cooperation Specialist, and Serene El-Kogali from Asia Bureau together with the Deputy Chief of Mission and diplomatic officers of the Embassy were also associated at the meeting.
