Mahamewna 2022 v1

Mahamewna Buddhist Monastery in Rockville held a Vesak celebration on 21st May 2022 under the patronage of Thalawe Dhamitha Bodhi Thero with the participation of the Chief Incumbents of Buddhist temples in Washington D.C. and the state of Maryland.

The celebration of Buddha Purnima commenced with the exhibition of relics of Gautama Buddha, Arahat Sariyut and Arahat Mugalan following devotional services/Pooja and Vandana invoking blessings to all devotees. A vibrant Vesak Pandal was illuminated at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe along with diplomatic officials and members of the staff of the Embassy attended the religious event.
