IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Department of Immigration and Emigration has informed that, as per the interim suspension order issued by the Supreme Court, the online visa application implemented via the web portal www.srilankaevisa.lk has been deactivated with immediate effect.
Until Further Notice, the procedure detailed below should be followed.
- Applicant should hold a passport valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka.
- Tourists can obtain visas on arrival at the port of entry in Sri Lanka.
- Gratis and Transit visa can be obtained through Sri Lankan Missions/ Posts abroad
- Single entry Tourist visa fee is US$50
- On arrival visa is not available for restricted nationalities. e. Afghanistan, Syria, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, North Korea and Myanmar. Nationals of these countries can apply for a visa from the Head Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration through a representative.
- Nationals of China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan have the facility to obtain visas free of charge at the port of entry.
- For applicants, whose visa applications are under process: In case you have applied on 2 August after 17:00 hours Sri Lanka Standard Time you will receive a refund.
