Swamy Sivasri Sivanatha a Sri Lankan Kurukkal in the US conducted the auspicious religious rituals connected with the Deepavali festival.
Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe in his remarks emphasized the significance of the Deepavali festival in the context of the rich diversity that is Sri Lanka, and expressed the hope that this rich diversity will be protected and nurtured going into the future, greatly assisting in the cultivation of a true Sri Lankan identity.
The Embassy premises were decorated with Kolam, and other festive decorations.
