The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C. represented Sri Lanka at the United Nations Day celebrated by Oneness-Family School in Chevy Chase on 20th October 2023 at the School premises.
At the celebrations, students were joined by numerous Ambassadors and diplomats from Embassies reaching every geographic region of the globe. The diplomats carry their national flags in the annual Procession of Nations. Counsellor Chathuri Perera represented H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States during the procession of nations.
Around 60 countries participated in the United Nations Day programme held at the school to support the initiative and to interact with the students who presented a cultural programme for the guests. Diplomats also visited the classrooms to view the displays organized by the students. An international luncheon prepared by parents who come from some 70 different nations was also opened for all attendees. Oneness-Family School is a non-profit Montessori school serving students from preschool through high school in Chevy Chase in the state of Maryland.
