This morning, 15th June 2011, Sri Lankan Liberal MP, Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha who is also the Advisor on Reconciliation to the President and former Secretary of the Human Rights Ministry, promptly responded on Al Jazeera regarding the Channel4 footage. The video alleging war crimes near the end of the armed conflict was aired last night in the United Kingdom.
Prof. Wijesinha emphasized the fact that segments of the international media not only prejudged but also distorted the issue considering neither the technical analysis provided by the Sri Lankan experts nor the possibility that the material may have been subject to manipulation.
