Sri Lanka showcased at U.S. Army War College – Pennsylvania

Sri Lanka’s culture, food, products and tourist attractionswere brilliantly showcased at the U.S. Army War College International Fellows aroundthe World 2012 held at the Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania on Saturday (Jan 21).

The event was organized by the “International Fellows”- the bodyof overseas students currently following academic programs at the college. Major General Udaya Perera of Sri Lanka Army is the president of theInternational Fellowes, and the first Sri Lankan military officer to hold this prestigiousposition.

The event was participated by 67 countries with an array ofinnovative stalls to represent them. The guest enjoyed the widest variety offood and beverages they could imagine available for them free of charge, whileeducating themselves about the participant countries. Over 1500 inviteesattended the event.

Sri Lanka Embassy Washington DC, under the guidance of HisExcellency Mr. Jaliya Wickramasuriya provided human and material support forthe organizers to arrange the Sri Lanka’s stall at the event.

U.S. Army War College Carlisle, Pennsylvania is the highestmilitary educational institution in United States.
