Easter sunday pro1

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington, D.C. in coordination with the Buddhist Viharaya in Washington D.C. and the International Buddhist Center in Maryland organizedonline Buddhist prayers and meditation sessions on 21st of April 2020, to commemorate the victims of the Easter Sunday terrorists attacks, including the U.S. citizens who lost their lives,with the participation of a large number of families via ‘zoom’ and ‘facebook’ digital platforms.

Both events commenced with brief introductions and chanting of pirith by the Venerable Maha Sangato invoke merits to the deceased persons from the Easter Sunday attacks. The special message of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to mark the first anniversary of the incidents was read out by Ambassador Rodney Perera at the end of both Buddhist ceremonies.
