[image title="unnamed" size="full" id="8371" align="none" linkto="viewer" ] Ambassador Prasad Kariyawasam with Governor of Hawaii David Ige Visiting the state of Hawaii from February 11th to 12th,Ambassador Prasad Kariyawasam attended the Independence Day celebrations organized by Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in Hawaii Kusuma Cooray. As the Chief Guest of the occasion in his address, Ambassador highlighted the potential for greater people to people interactions between people of Hawaii and Sri Lanka.  Governor of Hawaii David Ige, Commander of the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) Admiral Harry B. Harris, Jr., Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Scott H. Swift as well as other state government and USPACOM representatives were among those who joined the Ambassador to grace this important occasion for Sri Lanka. The Ambassador also visited the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) and met with Commander and senior officials of USPACOM, and discussed matters of mutual interest for Sri Lanka and the United States.
