Model UN Team from Woodrow Wilson High School visits Embassy of Sri Lanka Washington

Members of the Model United Nations Team from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington DC visited the Embassy of Sri Lanka on November 21 , 2013.

The students are to represent Sri Lanka at the model UN competition held in Boston this year. Model UN is an extracurricular activity popular among the US students, in which they role-play the country delegations at a simulated UN conference.

Mr. Thanuja Usliyanage, the Minister (Political) of the Embassy led a brief discussion on Sri Lanka with the students. A documentary on Sri Lanka produced by the Embassy was also screened for them.

Following the discussion, the students enjoyed afternoon tea with Ambassador Jaliya Wickramasuriya and the diplomats of the Embassy. Ms. Julie Caccamise, the teacher in charge of the students thanked the Ambassador and the Embassy staff for facilitating the visit.
