MEETING OF EXPATRIATE SRI LANKANS IN COLOMBO

On several occasions, His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka, has emphasized that Sri Lankan expatriates should be encouraged to accept their pivotal role in an effort to rebuild the country in the post-conflict era. We are pleased by the overwhelmingly positive response in the past few weeks from those who have shown their support of this initiative.

This Mission has been informed by the Office of His Excellency the President, that a meeting has been scheduled to be held at the Temple Trees on November 14, 2009 for Sri Lankan expatriates to meet His Excellency and discuss the future development of our country. They will also be provided with an opportunity to talk with representatives from banking, financial, investment and tourism industries as well as other state institutions at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo on November 15, 2009.

For those of who are interested in making use of this opportunity should register themselves with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C. to obtain discounts on airfares, which the Sri Lankan Airlines has enthusiastically offered.
